Yeah...probably not...
Sony can support the RIAA in suing a 13-year old fatherless girl living dirt-poor on welfare in the Bronx for downloading a few songs and then force a settlement for ~$5000. I also remember a case where a 70+ year old woman was sued for using Kazaa and then when she pointed out the fact that she only has a Mac, the RIAA refused to appologize or offer her any compensation.

Even the movie industry is taking up nasty habits...they just sued a Grandfather whose 12-year old grandson downloaded 4 movies off of iMesh (3 of which he already owned) for $600,000. This was DOWNLOADED only...not shared.

If the corporations can dive to such lows of humanity with nary a second thought, then they should expect nothing less when the tables are turned.

Look at the success iTunes has had...the music industry is FUMING mad because they can't get Steve to up the price from $.99 per song to $3 per song. Talk about greedy STUPID clueless music execs. They want people to go back to P2P, then increasing songs to $3 is EXACTLY the thing to do.

People are tired of this DRM....we're SICK of it. We've tried to be nice and tolerate it. It's now massively affecting our honest ability to listen to our music. Now, they've resorted to premeditated virus distribution while hiding under some report that music sales are down. Sony, how about your music sales are down because there isn't very good music...because if you ignore their isolated statistic and go back a few years you'll see that napster and other P2P actually INCREASED music sales.

Here's a thought...stop paying tens of millions to your lawyers, start listining to how your customers want to buy their music, put out decent music, and stop punishing honest people and amazingly enough you'll start seeing sales rise again. Unlike Sony wants us to believe...the vast majority of people are honest and just want to listen to music with no hassles.

Sony, I hope you pay big for this.
