While I don't defend Sony...
you are serious about boycotting companies that treat its customers like thieves? If so, no more shopping at stores that use anti-shoplifting techniques like dye packs on clothes or those alarms they have at the exits. Can't use banks anymore since they use security guards and cameras or ATMs which also use cameras. Actually, you can't even use money because there is a ton of anti-counterfeiting technology in bills. Hmm, no more accessing web sites that ask for passwords since they assume that you aren't who you say you are!

Give me a break, companies MUST protect their property, intellectual or otherwise, because there ARE many, many thieves out there who take advantage of the companies that don't. I'll turn it around and ask:
What do you call a company that assumes there are no thieves?
Soon-to-be-bankrupt.

That said, Sony went WAY too far with this one.
