Do I have any digital rights?
It seems to me that if a software provider, including a music vendor with software-based copy protection, is to honor my digital rights (e.g. against criminal trespass on my computer) the installation process should give unambiguously clear warning about what is being installed, its purpose and capability, an uninstall procedure--and require my informed positive consent as a condition of the installation proceeding. Shouldn't it be obvious that--as with my home--my computer is private property, not legally subject to incursions without my informed and active consent? BTW, I recently installed a copy of Silent Hunter III, which has a weird copy protection scheme, and I'm starting to be concerned that some game distributors may also be using rootkits for copy protection.
