Not so much the treatment that matters
I'm less concerned with being treated like a thief than I am being
sold a crippled, inferior product, and even moreso, one that
could potentially damage my electronics equipment (luckily I use
a Mac, which the record companies don't seem to realize exist,
which is another advantage of owning one).

If you're trying to sell me a product that does less than all the
other products on the market (won't allow me to put it on my
iPod), then you are going to have to compensate me in some
way (additional material, lower price) if you expect me to buy it.
Since I don't see Sony offering discounts on their crippled cd's, I
don't see them catching on real well with the public.
