I do not know if the software can be labeled as dangerous/malicious, but I do know that this DRM protection can be seen as a direct attack against 3rd party music players.

This is ripped straight from Sony's Faq:
"When listening to music directly off the disc, you must use the player provided on the disc. Attempting to play the audio on the disc (while the disc is spinning in the computer drive) with another player (i.e. Windows Media Player, Real Player, iTunes) will result in distorted sound."

No longer can you use your favorite media player--you have to use Sony's. No longer can you use your favorite burner to back up the CD--you have to use Sony's. I'm thinking this is a lawsuit waiting to happen.

I'm glad I stopped buying music.
