As M$ made IE & its OS inseparable as an anti-competitive imperative...
... the least you can do - as you know - is
disable it as default browser (which removes
the IE GUI/front end from view/use for all (?)
purposes except the "Help" System, as I
recall. Then use Mozilla (which is superior.

I seem to recall thinking about cleaning the
Registry of IE ref's and removing .dlls and
such, but ultimately I left IE available for the
relatively few websites still requiring M$
"technology."

M$'s "cheap shot" of unnecessarily (and
irremediably, according to the Beastie of
Redmond) wedding IE and OS together, while
supporting its monopoly, does nothing but
endanger its customers.

But then, since when have customer needs
ever been a priority at M$?!? M$'s smarmy PR
swill about being "customer-driven" is so
much kaka.
