I know current versions are better but old MS must be fixed
With 100 million win98 machines on the web, Microsoft have a duty to release a hardening patch for Win98 etc. Outlook and Outlook express, and crucially there must be a way for ISPs to bounce unhardened machines off the net, giving them only the possibility of downloading the patch thereafter normal service resumes. Hint - it can't be bigger than 10-20 meg. Also, complete access to the network stack must be prevented unless specifically granted by the user. (to stop the vastly dangerous backdoors). See my response to John Carroll for more information.
