nothing has happened to it
The country of origin does not actually have much of anything to say about who wrote it or why. Because someone in Russia may not care as much about SCO as someone in the US does NOT rule out an overly-fanatical Linux enthusiast, nor does the country from which it was released have necessarily much to do with the country in which it was written. This IS the internet, folks.

Yes, it includes a key-logger, which COULD be used to get credit card #'s (or anything else a user types in, including passwords, etc.), but we cannot determine from that, as GROKLAW does and you do, that the sole purpose is as a "commercial venture", disguising itself as something else. The comment on GROKLAW about installing key-loggers being "something no Linux person has ever been involved in to the best of my knowledge" is just plain silly.

Like I said, the evidence is all circumstantial. I find GROKLAW's conclusion, that this is a commercial enterprise masquerading as something else, to be entirely plausible, and would give it about as much weight as my conclusion, that a rabidly fanatical Linux enthusiast was involved. To all the conspiracy theorists speculating that SCO is actually behind this, or any other twisted and convoluted possible solution -- well, hey, I guess anything is possible, and if it makes you feel better to believe everyone in the Linux-only camp is a perfect angel, go ahead.

But usually, the simplest explanations are often the most valid, so I find it hard to swallow something that twists it around that much to try to explain it away.
