Probably not any better off if you don't have the common sense not to click links without knowing where they are about to take you...

Seriously, folks. Letting someone social-engineer you into infecting yourself is something for which the only effective cure is education.

Oh, and all my fellow Linux users out there: there do exist worms and rootkits for our favorite OS, too. What will you do when you get rooted? It's not like you can run out and download a great pile of anti-whatever and just run it... better bone up on how to use tripwire and snort, and on how to set yourself up a firewall now, *before* you get rooted.

Here's the sad, ugly truth: Linux and Windows are both inherently insecure. The degree of security you have depends more on the steps you have taken during configuration to secure your system than it does on which OS you are using.

Welcome to the real world.
