Finally, a more realistic approach. I mean, sure -- one can buy a new PC, or uninstall MS and install Linux; nothing wrong with that. But more than likely, that is not necessarily an easy thing to do, or it's just not feasible. Your solution, although a "worst case" scenario, is probably the only feasible way of restoring one's PC. The only improvement, of course, would be to make use of a backup utility, such as Norton Ghost -- this way, a PC can at least be restored to a point past "day one", or perhaps, a certain baseline so applications wouldn't have to be reinstalled, and/or (yuck!), reactivated.
