real money lost?
1- for each song that get's trades, what percentage of them are an actual lost sale? i wont argue that there is an imorality to it, but to claim that these people would have bought the song anyway, is many times naive.
2- of those who would have paid for the music, how much of that money would go into your pocket? if you are with a major label, it's probably close to $0

finally, since most artists make money off of concerts and promotions, don't you think that more people getting copies of these works (even if illegally) would help promote your concerts and thus make you more money in the long run?
