interesting, but too subjective
I like Bill Gates' idea -- computer can be used by dummies. That is the great idea, get more people to use first, thus, it gives his company the resource to improve itself. If you've experiences the OS in the old days, I think you would agree that it is much easier to use now. This is the way to go. Even Solaris the commercial servers and workstation have javadestop, kde, and Gnomes. I think Bill Gate can take some credits on it.

Is M$ wiping thier butts for the poorly designed OS? (Why not send a mail to Bill Gate? I still remembered Bill Gates' expression when he introduced win95, and oops, it crashed in front of all people in the conferences.) Nevertheless, WinFS is looking forwarded
