today, none the less, a specific server's remote access server was scanned and probed by a foreign ip address. the ip that did it, has its own irc server and is password protected. knowing this... and knowing that the same ip is running a password protected irc server, the only thing that would be needed to prove that this machine is currently being used as a central point for bot-net activity is attaining a copy of the malicious trojan software itself.
