NTI Backup Now! Broken as an example
I have been doing a mission critical backup for a Hotel which is part of the International Acorr hotel chain using NTI BAckup Now for some time.

Recently we needed to do a restore. NTI's first step is to fill a list with the files in the backup according to the Catalogue file. problem is that it takes Nine days... yes Nine days to fill the list ready for the user to select the files he/she wants to restore.

Sure finally after watching it add the items at one every 15 seconds after nine days the file required was selected and restored.

Upon discussing this problem with NTI for a week and them advising that the disk was faulty and other nonsense suggestions they finally decided that they could recreate the problem and would fix it some time in the future (time unspecified).

The attitude of these companies is basiclly one of Denial followed by admission but with no embarrasment or resposability and certainly no addmission of when the problem would be fixed... tis follows for completely broken situations like i describe.

Basically its not good enough.
