I don't believe these numbers for a second. If you have a Windows domain, eradicating a specific virus on all of your computers shouldn't take more than an hour or two if the proper tools are used - e.g. machine startup scripts, WMI scripts that connect out to your machines.

Are these companies having admins walk to each machine to clean them?

Lets see...$97,000 / 80 hours = $1212.50 per hour?
