ISPs, get a clue!
Most ISPs have severely underpowered and/or misconfigured name servers. This often leads to their clients (business, mostly) setting up their own name server, which *will* make "the internet" seem faster (although if not done right leads to problems laid out in the article). If ISPs would devote the proper resources to maintaining DNS, we might have a safer and more reliable internet.

ISPs, get a clue! Use multiple name servers, and spread the load out on your IPs. Restrict recursive queries and zone transfers as the article suggests. Don't use your authoritative name servers as caching servers for yout clients. It is not that difficult to keep a name server up to date, secure, and reliable.
