Puzzling behavior...
I would think it an absolute "no-brainer" to notify people when evidence of their personal information being stolen. Mastercard, Visa and whoever obviosly don't want to do this because it will cost them money? Well, BOO HOO. That's their business and they are supposed to ensure our data is secure... so get over it.

Why is this even a question? Why doesn't the judge just ask them to approach the bench and give them all a good slap across the face and then say, "Y'all need to shut up and inform people of the data that YOU or your subcontractors FAILED to secure properly. If you don't like this...then FIX the problem!"
