Firefox will actually load faster than IE, your just seeing it wrong.
When you already have windows fully loaded, IE is already loaded and running completely before you even click on the icon, it was loaded while you were istting there waiting for your desktop to be usable while windows was finishing loading. When you click IE, it just opens a window. When you click Firefox it is having to actually run a new program that is not already running.
