I use Netscape because...
.. of vendor lock-in!

I have a Netscape webmail account and I run the mail client on my system to download my e-mail from their mail servers so I don't have to surf to the site and look at the mail there.

Why do I call this vendor lock-in? Netscape uses a proprietary version of imapd to connect to their mail servers to download the mail to my machine. This imapd version is built into Netscape and isn't available as a standalone that I know of.

I don't mind paying the [behavioral] price for the convenience. Sometimes I even click on links in my e-mail and open up a Navigator window. But normally I browse with Firefox, Opera or Konqueror. Once in a while I use Galeon but I have stopped using Epiphany since it no longer has the features that made it my favorite.
