People are stupid, Part 2
If your car manufacturer sent you a recall notice saying there was a probability of say 1 time in 20 that when you started the car, it might explode, you'd go get it fixed, wouldn't you?

So here comes the manufacturer of the software on your computer telling you that they screwed up, there's a bug in the code, and if you apply the patch that particular problem will go away. If people are so concerned about their car, which basically is just transportation, why can't they put that same level of care into their computer? After all, these exploits threaten personal security, allow for easy identity theft, not to mention creating the potential for the user's computer to end up become a destructive zombie agent.

People are stupid. They don't listen. They don't hear the warnings. They don't act on them. And then they are shocked... shocked!... to find that someone is posing as them and wracking up massive credit card bills and destroying their credit. And they turn and blame the manufacturer.

You argument is specious. They had to put warning labels on coffee cups after some old lady spilled her coffee after sticking it between her legs. They actually have to warn people that the coffee in the cup might be hot!

BTW, I'm not a schill for Microshaft or anyone else. As far as I'm concerned, the destruction of all the computers on Earth and the Internet is just down the road... because the quality of code writing is terrible, there is no demand by the free market for better products, and oh by the way, people are still stupid!
