- Given the newest trend by AOL, Yahoo and I am sure Goggle to supply the virus protection as part of their online service (notice no Symantec products). And, now Microsoft getting in the fray; it looks like Symantec is trying to pad the coffers before planning to closing up shop and go away. I have been an advocate of Symantec but it has priced itself out of my range. Given I have an AOL registration (my wife bless her needs to be led thru the internet) and I get free virus and adware protection why spend more money.
