And I am willing to meet half way, the problem is the others aren't. So why make the attempt (again) when they won't even if you do. It's almost like a chicken / egg dilema.

Personally, I haven't used Windows at home since the beginning of 1997. I have been making due with Linux just fine and shall continue to do so. I am not married but I do have a wonderful girlfriend, that is now on Linux as well. My family is also on Linux for the most part, Mom refuses and I refuse to fix her PC anymore. Another time maybe.

But I do agree that what I wrote about is on the thin line. The bottom line as you pointed out, is if the price is dropped (which it can be and still afford a tidy profit) then Much if the piracy problem goes away. But there are other issues at hand and this is not that simple of a topic to address. But I strongly believe that if prices drop to more reasonable levels and the need is there then the desire to pirate will diminish.

But corporate greed is what is driving the price of software. It is the only comodity that has not significantly dropped in priceand the new "added value" generally only affects a small portion of the target audience at best as a rule. It's utterly rediculous.
