I personally would take a different spin on this. Software is too over priced. If software were more at say the costs of music CD's then millions and millions of people would buy more of it. But greed is too much of a factor.

Why can't i buy a copy of Windows XP Pro with SP2 from a store for around $105, like what the OEM manufacture's get it for? I have to pay $300 for it, that's stupid.

That's like a hotdog vendor charing $80 for a hot dog, while a distributor can get them for $11 a piece.

Make the software cheaper, so people can afford it better and more of us can afford it.
