Security experts give e-voting thumbs down

A Simple Answer: The answer to e-voting is simple, sign your ballot! Democracy is thousands of years old, the 'secret ballot' barely 150 years old and less than that in the USA. Obviously the country did quite well for the first half of its existence without secret ballots it is not going to destroy us to return to public ballots for those willing to trade secrecy for convenience. I have never voted for a candidate that I was embarrassed to vote for, if there was no one running I could vote for with my head high, I didn't vote for anyone. If more people's votes were public record perhaps more people would refuse to vote for some of the slimeball candidates that we see winning today. Its easy to vote for the slimeball who promises you something for nothing when you can do it in secret, it?s a little more difficult when you have to stand up in front of your friends and neighbors and say I vote for Mr. Slimeball.
