What he did was very bad, but is his fully responsible
Not to discount the cost and damage, but let us remember he is a teenager. And in our society he is consider one not fully responsible for his actions. This is a kid that had little supervision, with a talent in a field in which the Adults around him did not truly understand. While it may be useful to make an example of him. The bigger question is how do we properly guide a young and extremely sharp talent during their years of rebellion. What happened in this case was like giving a seven year old a loaded gun. Do you hold the child responsible for doing what children do?
