that's a heavy sentence
For a minor. Had he a good lawyer he could have gotten off with a suspended sentence or maybe even an abosute discharge.

11 month senstences are usually for the really bad crimes like murder and robbery. Of course with murder they try to move the kid to adult court where they can give them life.
