ZDNet, get it right about the Google Video Viewer
Well, they're getting better, at least. At least this time, they didn't call it a crack, which implies illegal activity. The Google Video Viewer, according to Google themselves, is an open source program which took code directly from VideoLan (and I'm assuming some code from Google programmers themselves). VideoLan is an open source media player. It's impossible to crack it, because it's already open. And saying he hacked the Google Video Viewer is even a stretch, since he's really hacking VideoLan, to make it compatible with Google's Video Viewer service.
