- ever heard of it? its been on the rise, so has the cost of production for big budget special effects movies. the demand for disc based media is dropping too, forcing an increase in price to maintain that revenue line (its stupid business, but basic economics) disc based media will keep increasing in price, while other forms of media become cheaper and more clever until disc media ceases to exist on the shelves as is. Of course it will not disappear in our life times, probably never, as so many futurists have predicted. people will always want some form of hardware to purchase and say they own.
