TRUE STORY:

I have a friend who borrowed his Dad's station wagon to use as a makeshift 'ambulance' after a tornado hit and devistated Witchita, KS back in the 50s. The Red Cross set the vehicle up with their supplies. After all turmoil was over and it came time to clean the vehicle the Red Cross would not kick in ONE DIME to help. In addition, the Red Cross had the audacity to CHARGE my friend for the supplies used in transporting victims to triage units and the hospital!!!!!

The Red Cross puts ALL its donations into ONE pot to be used ALL OVER the WORLD. Just because you donate to ...say the Katrina victims... does't mean that money WILL go to the KATRINA VICTIMS! The Salvation Army works in a somewhat similar fashion.

Therefore, it is best to donate through YOUR own church so that you can make sure that money goes where it is INTENDED to go and not into a melting pot.
