Everything you said is also correct if you replace the word "Windows" with "KDE" and the word "IE" with "Konqueror". Do you call KDE users (myself included) happless customers too?

Isn't it this same rendering engine that you can't be rid of even if you're smart enough to never use IE, Outlook or any other MS web client as it always there and available to any code that calls the HTML render classes?

What a silly comment! It is a library, of course it is always there and available to any code that calls its classes! If you removed it, every application that relied on it would break and every application that didn't rely on it would continue to work. Linux comes with thousands of classes that are "always there and available". You think that every time any Linux application/routine needs to compress/decompress data, the developers write compression algorithms from scratch? How about displaying graphics, you think every developer writes their own PNG routines? Of course not!

Yes, the rendering engine is always there and available to applications that want to use it. That is the whole point.
