You're absolutely right, PMC-CON. IE code and Windows OS code are so tightly meshed that to use Windows is to use IE, and to use IE is to use Windows. If a user installs a 100% safe application on Windows, the safety of that Windows machine is not increased - the inherently unsafe IE/WIndows hybrid is the weak link in the chain and user safety is bought to their low level. You appear to be suggesting that driving a strong car over a weak bridge makes the bridge safer? Windows is flawed, by design. No application on earth can make it safer. Every patch you install is an attempt to make the bridge stronger, 10 years of patching and here we are, today, with another IE flaw for which there is not yet a patch. I suggest MacOS or Linux. Do yourself a favour.
