Poor "non-zealot". No facts, resorts to ad hominem.
Again, your ignorance shines like a beacon of hopelessness. The Register are not "ABM". They are a news portal. That was a poor attempt to negate a factual report they carried, one of many (try Google). As for this crack -

"However, the question I asked you which you ignored was "Who was KDE trying to crush when they integrated an HTML engine in their windowing software?" After all, this is why MS did it (according to you and other ABMers like theregister), it had nothing to do with good software design principles like code reuse or anything silly like that, right? Interesting how when MS does something, they are EVIL EVIL EVIL but when KDE does it, well, it doesn't really matter. Zealot".

You demonstrate very clearly you have no formal training in Software Engineering, and to claim otherwise is to highlight either your non-attention at SE lectures, or the shoddy syllabus you studied. Try looking up the terms "Cohesion" and "Adhesion" in a software engineering book. You will find that just because you do not like it, does not negate the fact that what Microsoft did to crush Netscape was violate fundamental software engineering principles. Code re-use? You make me laugh out loud. Code re-useability is not achieved by taking a proprietary application and mixing it so deeply into OS functionality that the vendor can claim the OS won't work if the application is removed. With every utterance you display your ignorance and inability to accept basic, computer science, truths.

Your other lame attempt to muddy the water - the KDE question - is a non-starter. Microsoft sell Windows and IE. Windows and IE used to be separate, then Microsoft mixed them together, so they could argue that every copy of Windows had to have the browser IE, or it wouldn't work.

Linux is not owned by a company, like Windows is, at this point your insistence that they are "doing the same thing" falls apart. Microsoft were convicted on 7 counts of illegally maintaining their monopoly and the mixing of IE code with the OS (re-useable! Stop it, you're sooooo funny!) was one of the issues. Read the links - there are millions more. All proving you wrong. try to accept it, because it won't change, no matter how tightly you fasten your blinkers on.
