Web site gives e-mail senders a reputation

Not the first, not the last, but maybe better

If you think this is the first list that might erroneously give you a bad rating and prevent you from sending email, then you may be forgetting the 500+ email blacklist organizations out there.

The diference here is that this one is transparent, easy to use, and published by a party that has a reputation for being responsible, which is something that cannot be said about many of its blacklist counterparts that are run based on anecdotal rather than empirical reputation data.

Recent analyst reports put the "false positive" rate (i.e., the rate of "wanted" email getting blocked erroneously by spam filters) at nearly 20%. We need more responsible, impartial parties in this space, so I beleive CypherTrust's entry will be welcome.
