- Remote Access Technology Can Help Business Continuity
- In addition to preparing satellite offices with loaner laptops, personnel that are equipped to remotely access their desktops, and work as if they were still at the office, have a significant advantage. Deploying technology in advance of a crisis that is fast, easy and secure will encourage employees to continue working remotely. Remote access technology, such as Citrix GoToMyPC, have been utilized in times of crisis when employees are unable to travel to work, but need to maintain access to their files, applications and network connections uninterrupted. And, since GoToMyPC is a managed remote control service, it can reduce deployment time because there are no servers to be implemented or software to be configured. Users simply download the software to their office computer before leaving, keeping their computer running and connected to the Internet. To log in at a remote computer, they connect to www.gotomypc.com, enter their user names and passwords. Built-in security features provide the highest level of protection, including end-to-end AES encryption, dual password requirements, user authentication and screen blanking of the host computer.
