Not 'defective'
There is nothing 'defective' about Windows. Used as intended, it works just fine. It's only actions by an outside entity that cause problems like this. If Windows were to somehow spawn viruses and worms all by itself, with no script kiddie involved, then it would indeed be "defective". Otherwise, my front door is "defective" because anyone can walk in if I leave it unlocked.
