Sorry, but the current strategy does not seem to be
working. If the RIAA chooses to smack their own heads
against the wall a little harder, it's still not going to make a
difference.

Now personally, I don't buy the data from any of these
"studies" (see my other post below), but even if you do
believe them, fileswapping is still a massively popular
practice. The lawsuits may perhaps have scared off a tiny
minority of sharers, but that's about it. Has this decreased
the availability of music online? Clearly, no. Has the huge
expense in legal bills racked up by the RIAA been paid for
by increased sales to those who would have previously
been downloading? Clearly, no.

There comes a point when one has to realize that one's
strategy is not working, and a new strategy needs to be
employed.
