Lets sum this up.
They set up a study where they got 40,000 volunteers to install spyware and 5000 to take a survey. Totaling 45,000 volunteers who's makeup represented the millions of internet users.

And when they saw these volunteers doing something (like deleting illegal music) they assumed the internet community at large was doing it too.

Ummm, did they take into consideration the HUGE impact their very observation had on these volunteers' actions? The conclusions are only valid if the observers themselves aren't affecting the very results they are recording. Who in their right mind would act normal (let alone, bad) while there is a person watching and recording everything they do over their shoulder.

Its like a mom saying "My 7 year old never steals cookies from the jar! I put it right next to him and been looking at him for the last 5 hours. He hasn't touched it."
