Pretty pathetic effort
40 billion in the bank and this is the best they can do in two years? A decade from now, this will all be behind us! And so, with any luck, will MS.

Funny how the MS TCO studies never seem to include the added cost of anti-virus software. What's an enterprise seat for Norton these days? Our purchasing people are in the other building and I don't feel like walking over there. Not to mention the hours of time it costs the customer when a patch stops some critical service on the network, like the last SQL Server patch. Soon as that went on, their SQL server takes a header. And now how much time do they burn testing patches? If it wasn't so pathetic it would be funny. Never seen any of those factors considered in a TCO study. Bet that would really tweak the numbers.
