No surprise.
I'm not surprised business find their servers infected and that they loose their data.
Basic security requires protection of the company's most valuable asset - the data - against damage or loss, and protection against malicious use oof the system(s).
Windows contains so many holes and design flaws, it should NEVER be used as a server in an organization. Unix, including Linux) are vulnarable for worms and virusses that may abuse the system, so these should not be allowed either, but risks are so much lower it's worth to be used - but only if constantly monitored.

Insurenace companies ought to deny any claim based on virus and worm infection. They should partly accept a claim when a less vulnerable OS is used, and a full acceptance would only be possible when a system is used that is proven to be hacker-, worm- and virus proof. The more, the better.

The only point is: Most CIO's and other managers in charge don't look further than their noses reach. They only know about Windows, Linux, Unix...
But the good ones look further and may run into OpenVMS: declared "cool and unhackable" on DEFCON 9, and told not to return on DEFCON again. It simply is too good.

Proof of the record: See www.kb.cert.org and look for VMS and OpenVMS, and compare to any version and variant of Windows and Unix.
