IP Needs redesign to stop attack by Spoofing
When was the last time you ever heard of caller ID being spoofed? Problem is that the absolute numeric "from" field is fully open for alteration by applications and users. What is needed is an update to IP that makes the absolute IP address inaccessible to end-users and only accessible to trusted and certified routers and switches! The only thing that should be visible is the DNS name and the ability to restrict originating "from" DNS names to certain trusted entry points (like the "White House" and the like. Almost all attacks seems to be based on the alteration of the "from" DNS field.
