- Who's going to make the Internet safe?

Too bad we broke up the Bell System.
No one has responsibility for the Internet and the people who set it up want to keep it that way. It's a sort of anarchy by its very nature. That's why it's cheap! There's no profit motive in making it safe. Who's going to spend their money to do it? It's always cheaper to let "someone else" do that (so it will never get done).
