- Where in this story is the US mentioned?
-
The two cases so far have involved Great Britain and Australia. I am not familiar with their privacy laws but I would presume they follow closely along with ours.
And, as the story says, the call center employees are bound to follow the tenets set out by the clients and I am sure they have strict privacy clauses.
This is just another example of a few bad apples (albeit Indian apples) spoiling the whole bunch. However, the fact that it is so simple to do should be a wake-up call.
And, one last thing... if the Indian authorities are unwilling to investigate as this originated as a sting operation (or entrapment to use the story's slant), then what good are they? And how widespread is this kind of thing that the agency would even try a sting? Why try a sting on somehting that doesn't exist?
No, this is apparently the new growth industry in countries where your medical insurance records have been outsourced. - Posted by: Confused by religion Posted on: 08/16/05 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
