I don't understand...
"The kind of details they provided was alarming--not just the names and addresses of Australian customers but also their telephone numbers, birth certificate details, Medicare numbers, driver's license numbers (and) ATM card numbers."

Do the Aussies or for that matter any sane people on Earth simply dole out all their information to companies? I guess more than the Indian Call Center, the original company which dished out the sensitive information is to be held responsible (in this case, Switch Mobile, an Australian telemarketing company, as the report claims). Why would one give their Medicare and ATM numbers to any company? I would suggest the authorities to first dock the telemarketing company! How did they manage to get such sensitive information in the first place. Its really scary to know this...
