Or perhaps not. You are making the assumption that TPM will succeed in the market, and I have not seen any evidence to say that it will. Just because there is an unholy alliance trying to corner the market with this technology does not mean that they will succeed.

I personally see a lot of people who wish for this technology to succeed for their own personal reasons (whether it is they want to avoid corporate responsibility, enforce intellectual property, etc). Those opinions don't mean much to me, because they'll all trumpet the "there is no choice but accept it" mantra. But I know a whole lot of people who are very suspicious of TPM (and this isn't the Linux users group, or the Torrent addicts either), but people who make the decisions to buy machines for heavy duty computing used for serious business. TPM's acceptance is not universal in the business community at all, and I would even dare say that it isn't a majority.
