Simply brilliant
Your suggestion demonstrates brilliance that is available only to the greatest of IT pros. Of course it would be much, much simpler to unplug the computer, but I guess that never occurred to you.

Or, maybe you should briefly consider the outside chance that people use computers to accomplish tasks, such as building spreadsheets or writing letters, etc. Those people would be left completely in the cold by either of our suggestions.

Me, I'll take the bad with the good. I know that MS OSes and software has bugs (as does all software), but I like the way they work. So, I'll leave my computer plugged in with the OS and entire hard disk intact. You, on the other hand, can do whatever it is you do with a computer.
