Worthless?
"About 84 percent of those authenticated messages were spam". We've calculated that closer to 90% of the SenderID, SPF authenticated messages we receive is Spam - but let's say it is 84%. So authentication alone is worthless.

"If we can get to a place where a significant portion of e-mail has valid SPF records, then we can start to do things to fight spam more effectively."

If everyone, including the spammers, is authenticating their domains, then we are right back where we are today: using filters and blacklists.

Perhaps the SenderID fans think that the law can do something, IF we know where the messages originate. Not likely.

Law enforcement likes headlines, and catching spammers won't get anyone promoted - OR elected.

IMO, SenderID is worth zip.
