Again ...
Again, everyone misses the entire point here. You little kids can't do anything but throw stones at one another and cry 'my dad can beat up your dad'.

Actually LOGIC dictates that if the scource code is available to the 'evil-doers' they can more easily find the mistakes that may lead to security issues. Whereas if the source code is unavailble, either decompilation is required or it simply requires trial and error.

Regardless, there are tools to sniff out these 'bugs' on any system and this article (along with the mighty Cisco's fiasco) simply proves that ALL SOFTWARE will have bugs. Add that to whatever system has the more wanted information that the evil-doers are after and you'll find what 'they' will attack most.

Just look at all the names, SSNs and other private data that's been stolen from CC companies, universities, and even 'secure' vendor data bases. Want to bet all those thefts were NOT on any one given system? The real point is that if the data is there - REGARDLESS OF HOW - 'they' are going to find a way to get it.

My point? Do be stupid enough to think that ANY OS is going to protect your data if 'they' really want it. OS's have to have outside software to be of any use. Somewhere in one / both / or include the connection between the two, there'll be something to exploit.

Hence, stop the little kid bashing of the OSs you guys, no matter which one you are bashing. Grow up and address the REAL PROBLEMS.
