Replies just from the queried server? Maybe not.
Interesting... I set that registry entry. This almost sounds like what's happening to the DNS Servers themselves. Somehow they are being tricked (or by default accept?) responses from other servers other than the ones they query.

Someone listening on the network to the queries slips an answer in there that wasn't requested. And that slipped in answer has to appear as if it came from a DNS Server. (It couldn't come from another client, now could it?) Now I save that answer. No matter who it came from.

Not good for a client or for a server in my opinion.

(IS there a reason why an answer would be accepted from other than what server was queried?)

... Kind of like asking your Dad for the car keys and your Sister says Ok. So you take the non authority OK? And you didn't even ask that non authority? Hmmmm... We must be oversimplifying this. It's gotta be more complex than that.
