on the edge of the network and they would MUCH RATHER CUT the flow of incomming worms, embedded in emails that originate from infected Windows PCs only.

The idea of a mail firewall is not new and it is widely used by the wiser organizations.

In our large UNIX shop no incidences have been reported for UNIX/Linux machines. And since the UNIX based mail firewall was installed, we have saved ourselves a lot of traffic in worms propagation.
