The vulnerability has already been fixed, can't you read?
Nobody's been publicly humiliated, because it was handled quickly and efficiently by Cisco.
The only people vunerable here are anyone who hasn't upgraded their code, which could be a pretty big chunk of the population, since ~80% of all traffic on the Internet hits at least one Cisco box on it's journey, not to mention all the private networks that use the equipment.

Cisco wasn't looking out for itself, it was looking out for it's customers.

I suppose you're a software developer who writes perfect code, right?
